On December 8, members of Hagar Australia’s largest-ever Run for Freedom team will join 10,000 participants from across the world testing their stamina on a stunning course around Angkor Wat.
We’re delighted that 35 amazing people have already signed up to join this annual event and raise funds for Hagar at the same time. One of those pulling on his running shoes is Bill Hurditch, Hagar Australia’s Chairman – and first-time fun run participant!
Bill says he’s training hard for the big day. “Because about the most energetic thing I’ve done recently is drink coffee, I know it’ll be a physical challenge for me … I’m absolutely no runner!”
“I’m a little nervous about running in the heat but Hagar Australia’s CEO Jo Pride, who ran last year, assures me there are plenty of drinks stations and that the encouragement from spectators and my fellow runners combined with the awe-inspiring scenery will get me through.”
All funds raised by Bill and others on their 5, 10 or 21km run or walk will go towards supporting survivors of human trafficking, slavery and abuse to heal and rebuild their lives.
Our runners this year have made a great start towards their collective target of raising $100,000 to advance Hagar’s work with survivors. Let’s help them achieve that target! Click here to sponsor them!
It’s also not too late to join this year’s team and we can’t think of a better way to finish the year than participating in such a life-changing event. Find out more here.
