Meet Hanh
At just 17, Hanh became entangled in the tragic world of human trafficking, a distressing reality for many in Southeast Asia.
Deceived into an online relationship, she soon found herself trapped when a seemingly affectionate suitor turned treacherous. What was meant to be a reunion in Ho Chi Minh City became a nightmare, as she was trafficked to China, forced into a coerced marriage, and subjected to years of cruel exploitation. Passed between families and compelled into domestic servitude, Hạnh's life was a continuous cycle of despair.
However, Hanh's unyielding spirit led to a daring escape one day. Yet, her freedom was short-lived as Chinese immigration detained her as an undocumented immigrant. After months of confinement, she was deported to Vietnam.
Returning home, she bore the physical and emotional scars of her ordeal. Emaciated, bruised, and haunted by her captivity, she was a shadow of her former self. Hagar Vietnam became her lifeline, providing comprehensive care through the Hagar Whole Journey. This multi-tiered approach encompassed physical and emotional healing, medical treatment, vocational training, and empowerment. Through Hagar's dedication, Hạnh not only mended her spirit but also acquired essential skills.
