One of Australia’s most prolific actors, Rachel Griffiths is also an Academy Award nominated and multi-award winning actress. After a successful career on the Australian stage, Rachel Griffiths burst onto the international scene in 1994 with Muriel’s Wedding. Her film credits since then include My Best Friend’s Wedding, The Rookie, Blow and Saving Mr Banks. In television Rachel earned a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Brenda in the HBO series Six Feet Under. Rachel has always maintained a deep commitment to human rights. She became Patron of Hagar Australia in May 2012 and advocates to raise awareness of the organisation’s critical work with survivors of severe abuse, sharing Hagar’s vision across the globe.

“Hagar is doing an amazing job restoring the lives of women and children suffering from severe physical and mental trauma after experiencing unimaginable human rights abuses. Hagar gives these people hope and a new life, and isn’t afraid to tackle the hardest cases. It’s a pretty easy decision to support Hagar,” says Griffiths.
